As a rule, I’m a very jaded person (my posts can attest to this), but there are two things that are guaranteed to make me weep. One is the final scene in Der Rosenkavalier, assuming I’ve watched the whole opera, and the other is the final scene in Yevgény Onégin. When Tatyana sings, “we came so close,” with unbearable sadness, I can’t help but loose my s%#t.

Okay now we’re on to Yevgeniy Onegin. I love Russian music and Russian opera so much…I don’t know. It suits my temperament and my soul. Maybe I’ll learn Russian this summer…maybe an ice cream truck will fall on my head.
