Donna Meagle gets her Lakmé on at Leslie’s Wedding on “Parks & Recreation”

Super exciting news! I’ll be the lead tenor in “The Producers!” So…yea I just basically show up in one scene, look aryan and belt “Springtime for Hitler.” but still… I’ve got my ice blue contacts ready, and my hairdresser is making me a blonde next week. I’m excited…I have NO IDEA how it’s gonna look.

I’m so bummed that Tina turned down the Academy Awards when they offered her the hosting gig. Nevertheless, these two broads were FUNNY and, while they weren’t as edgy as Ricky Gervais, they managed to KILL at the Golden Globes this year. I was upset that there wasn’t more of these two. Tina and Amy deserve more than just a short monologue at the top!

This video: YES…just, yes! If award shows would feature more stuff like this, the Academy Awards would be a much more tolerable experience.

…I love this woman!!!

Oh Tina! Looking amazing and Hepburnesque as ever…

Kate Flannery does Neely O’Hara!!!

Music Conservatory

As a tireless advocate for th arts, I feel it is incumbent upon me to both encourage and help young singers as they prepare to attend conservatory.

As everyone knows, in order to be a great singer, one absolutely must attend a major conservatory; preferably in New York or Dallas Fort Worth, the two booming opera capitals of the world.

I’ve found a fantastic video on YouTube, which I think perfectly sums up my experience at conservatory. Of course every experience is different, but this very fair and honest look as conservatory life will, in my opinion, best help young singers navigate the often tricky but rewarding decisions and compromises one invariably makes while building a successful and fulfilling career in the arts. Enjoy!

I have SERIOUS emotional connections to this song. Not because it’s really funny (though, god knows, it is), but because me and my girl Gabbie (my best friend/one of the most talented people I know/funniest person I know/collaborator/singing partner in all my future projects) rocked this s%@t in our gay as blazes/super ghetto cabaret.

But, seriously, putting a show together with her was one of the happiest times of my life! And that includes the time I saw John Hamm jogging with his shirt off at the Chelsea Fitness Center….

Stop Obama and help save Betty White! (with thanks to the Daily Show)

Just because…

This made me laugh so hard!

Opera fans,
For a good time, and some of the biggest laughs at the movies this summer, go see Woody Allen’s latest, “To Rome With Love”. Not only is it one of the funniest movies I’ve seen in a while, there’s a fully staged production of “Pagliacci” where the title character spends the whole opera taking a shower…perfection!

Attention fans of AbFab: There’s going to be a movie! Creator Jennifer Saunders recently told the Times that Patsy and Eddie will be stumbling their way through a full length feature very soon. ”Yes, I’m definitely going to do it,” Saunders said. “I’m aiming to shoot this in a beautiful part of the Riviera. I fancy the south of France in the spring.”
