I fucking love this woman with all my heart. As Ben Brantley said, Kelli O’Hara is “one of the finest musical actresses of her generation.” She sings every phrase with such meaning. The clarity of the text always comes through…flawless!

“My bottom line about Natalie is she’s either proof that God exists or compensation that he doesn’t.”

Eurydice Gets Eaten Out

The hilarious Natalie Dessay as Eurydice and her husband, the French baritone Laurent Naouri as Jupiter, performing “Il m’a semblé sur mon épaule” from “Orphee aux Enfers.”

I’m Tired

“Stage Door Johnnys constantly suwound me. They always hound me. With one wequest. Who can satisfy their lustful habbit? I’m not a wabbit! I need some west.”

Dessay being awesome as usual! We need more artists like her who value text and acting. Say what you will about her voice, but she’s compelling as hell.

Statues and Stories from “The Light in the Piazza”

The painting of the world we know in a city made of statues and stories.

Could this woman be anymore wonderful? She was my reason for getting up in the morning when I was dealing with conservatory life. She has such a feeling for text as well as the beauty of her singing. I love how she phrased the “I” in the line, “Pretending I am wonderful” it gives me goosebumps!

The most heartbreaking scene in the whole musical…

“I Care About the Acting”

God I love this woman! We must have been separated at birth. This is EXACTLY how I felt about my singing once I started at a conservatory.
